2009 GRABLE VINEYARDS PATIENCE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 750MLRegion: United States
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
On A Case Neighbors Peter Michael. John Kongsgaard Assist. Totally Undervalued!
The 2009 vintage provided ideal weather conditions. The long, mild growing season allowed for beautiful ripening of fruit with extended hang time on the vines. Michael planted the Bordeaux varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 6, Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 338,Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot) in 2003. The vineyard sits at 510 feet above sea level. Soil is deep, well-drained and consists of gravel, sand and clay. Because of the excellent drainage, the roots must grow deep to seek water, so the crop yields are much lower and berries are smaller with greater flavor concentration. The alluvial soil provides the mineral component that gives the wines added complexity and cellaring capability. Truffle, chocolate, blackberry and cassis-scented bouquet, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and fabulous concentration, purity and density. Drink now through 2030.
