The Garces Silva family is one of the pioneers in the Leyda Valley's viticultural development and planted the land with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vines are now reaching optimal maturity of 10 years old, and have begun to produce some very dynamic and unique expressions of Chardonnay. Located in a valley that lies between the Coastal Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean, Amayna's gental coastal hills are characterized by organically poor soils and a maritime climate. Sitting 8.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyards receive cool ocean breezes and maritime humidity to create a perfect balance. They harvest by hand and employ gravitational flow in lieu of pumps to create elegant wines.

TASTING NOTES: Wine Spectator- "Very suave and minerally, with luscious flavors of cherry, cream and cola, accented by silky tannins. The long, rich, plush finish echoes with sandalwood notes. Drink now through 2019. "

Vinous- "Dark red. Fresh dark berries, musky flowers and a hint of smoky minerals on the deeply perfumed nose. Juicy and expansive in the mouth, offering bitter cherry and blackberry flavors braced by a spine of zesty acidity. Picks up licorice and cola notes with air and finishes impressively long, spicy and smooth, with gentle tannins sneaking in late. There's a very suave interplay of richness and vivacity happening here. (fermented in stainless steel tanks, followed by a year of aging, 15 percent in stainless steel and the rest in French oak barrels, 15 percent of them new)"
