RATINGS: 91pts Wine Advocate

Alta Vista is a French family-owned winery that focuses on the production of high altitude, site-specific wines. The family’???s winemaking knowledge and passion, together with its former ownership of the famous champagne house Piper-Heidsieck, provided the impetus to create a harmonious French-Argentine fusion. Years of research brought them to the top growing regions of Mendoza, an area best suited for the creation of terroir-expression wines.

TASTING NOTES: Wine Advocate 91 points - The 2013 Alta Vista Premium Torrontes from Cafayate, Salta, was harvested in three different stages, mid-March, end of March and until mid-April, to combine freshness, maturity, aromas and complexity, which resulted in more subtle aromas, more flowers (jasmine) and less tropical notes (less lychee). It has a concentrated and powerful palate that is more complex and ripe, very dry, with good weight of fruit, and vibrant. For comparisons’??? sake Philippe uncorked the last bottle of the first vintage for this wine, the 2002, and unfortunately the bottle was off but it would have been really interesting to see how the wine ages. This is very drinkable, but should also last. A complex and food-oriented Torrontes, at an unbeatable price. Drink now-2017..Luis Gutierrez, April/2014
